Union Public Service Commission Vacancies

The Union Public Service Commission is the apex government recruitment

commission of India. UPSC is a constitutional authority constituted under Article 315 of the Indian Constitution. It is designated to advice the central and state govts on matters and norms of recruitment to various senior positions in the civil service.

The UPSC is entrusted with very important responsibilities including recruitment to jobs under the Union government through competitive examinations, interviews, advice the central government, state governments and state Public Service Commissions on matters relating to the qualifications, experience requirements and other preconditions of officers through selection, promotion, or deputation. It also handles disciplinary matters of civil servants, pensions, reimbursements and miscellaneous matters of government offices and bureaucracy.

Examinations conducted by UPSC
The following examinations are conducted systematically at designated centers

Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination conducted in May of every year
Civil Services (Main) Examination: those qualified in the Civil Service Preliminary Exam undergo this exam during October-November.
Indian Forest Service Examination conducted in July of every year
Engineering Services Examination conducted in June of every year
Geologist Examination conducted in December
Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination conducted in July
National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination conducted twice every year, in April and September
Combined Defence Services Examination conducted twice, in February & August
Combined Medical Services Examination conducted in January
Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination conducted in November
Section Officers/Stenographers (Grade-B/Grade-I) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination conducted in December
Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination conducted in October.

Recruitment Advertisements Update: The union Public Service Commission notifies various recruitment programmes periodically.
